Since 1996 Street Rodder magazine has built a project vehicle in conjunction with various industry manufacturers and then Jerry Dixey has driven it to many events around the country logging 20,000+ miles per year with each leg of the tour featured in Street Rodder. This year’s car is a 1927 Ford Roadster Pickup that is being built by Zane Cullen and his crew at Cotati Speed Shop. PerTronix Ignition and Patriot Exhaust brands were chosen to compliment the build while offering reliable improvements in power and appearance.
The Road Tour car will feature the New PerTronix Billet Plug n Play distributor with Ignitor III electronics that offers the important benefits of an ignition box, without the box. An adjustable digital rev limiter and second spark are two of the ground breaking features that are contained within the distributor. To compliment the distributor, Flame Thrower Plug Wires and the Flame Thrower III coil will also be used.
Patriot’s popular Lakester headers will also be featured along with the innovative new VaraFlow mufflers that will allow Jerry to tune the sound of the exhaust while he makes his drive across the country. Zane and the Cotati crew are also using patriot’s Exhaust U Bends and Stainless tubing to complete the entire exhaust system. If you see the Road Tour Car at any of the 16 scheduled stops, be sure to ask the Road Tour crew to demonstrate the unique sound of the VaraFlow mufflers.
